Is DUMBO safe for solo travelers?
In this blog, I’ll show you my top 5 best things to do in DUMBO in a day from my personal experience!
Walk/ Bike from Downtown Manhattan to Dumbo, Brooklyn through Brooklyn Bridge
Where to start: You can get off from subway 4,5,6 train on Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall or J,Z on Chamber St or 3,2 on Fulton St.
It’s a very enjoyable walk on Brooklyn Bridge, about a good 30mins one way, or you can bike on it if you rent a city bike. Be careful when you walk on the bridge, there’s a bike lane and a walk lane specifically separate bikers and pedestrians. Usually, bikers aren’t too happy when tourists block the bike lane.

Dumbo, a neighborhood whose name is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, it is basically a small artsy area between Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge.
